The Multifamily Energy Efficiency and Housing Affordability (MEEHA) program provides funding to reduce energy consumption in affordable housing.

​​​Use of funds

  • To reduce electric or gas consumption.
  • Limited health and safety or incidental repairs in projects completing measures that reduce electric or gas consumption.
  • Gas reducing measures are allowed to be funded if the customer is in the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company(BGE) or Washington Gas Light Company (WGL) utility territory only.

Affordability requirements

A minimum of 20% of households must be 80% Area Median Income (AMI) or less for a minimum of 5 years

Project size eligibility

All building sizes and configurations including:

  • Single family units as a group project
  • Individually metered
  • Master metered buildings
