Multifamily Energy Efficiency and Affordable Housing Program (MEEHA) job opportunities
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development is hiring two Project Managers for its Multifamily Energy Efficiency and Affordable Housing Program (MEEHA). MEEHA promotes energy efficiency and housing affordability in the State’s multifamily rental housing developments. MEEHA currently houses three programs: EmPOWER, Washington Gas Light (WGL), and the Greenhouse Gas Reduction program (GHGRP).
The Project Manager will coordinate and manage energy conservation projects receiving funds for the execution of energy efficiency or greenhouse gas reduction initiatives. The Project Manager will utilize their expertise with communication, organization, critical thinking, and other skills to move projects through the funding process. The Project Manager has, or will have, an understanding of building construction and assemblies, energy diagnostic and modeling methodologies, and energy conservation or greenhouse gas reduction measure recommendations. This knowledge will be used to review and approve funding requests, product specifications, payment requests, perform cost benefit analysis, and onsite construction progression inspections. On the job training is provided as well as training for building science certifications or other relevant industry education.
The minimum qualifications include seven years of experience evaluating the risk involved in granting single family, multifamily and commercial loans, government assistance programs, and/or construction management. Education and/or military service may substitute some of the years of work experience.
